Stichting Academisch Erfgoed - Things That Talk workshop, January 26, 2023 /
In the first part of the afternoon, Jill DECROP ERNST (SAE) presented the status of our project. During the presentation the attendees were asked for feedback on the outcomes of the research, interviews and lesson observations to date. During the lively discussions, the group reached consensus on various matters. Formulated as advises to our project team:
Our project should move away from the nomenclature and concept of a toolbox - the word that we have used during the application process at Erasmus+. Because:
'Tools' suggest something that we, as a team, define for the community what they need to use to achieve success in their teaching with objects, while the thing that the group really wants is a sense of community, and a network that can play a role in the professionalization and accreditation of the practice of object based teaching and learning.
Secure a place within the to-be website that enables teachers to attend lessons and lectures by other teachers, in and outside one's own field of expertise; including both in-the-flesh attendance as well as opportunities for joining in online.
Think about the authority of such a place. How can our platform be used as a formal 'proof' of the value that object teaching brings to the academic curriculum.
